*AV*--this is a tough situation because the GMR technology coming out of IBM coupled with the likes of QNTM wanting to internalize their head manufacturing, could lead to severe consolidation in this sector.

Between the top 5 producers of disk drives, you have one that is internalized, one that is about to do that, and a third that may be looking towards IBM for heads. This does not bode well for both APM and RDRT. I can't help but envision some consolidation here rather than a second(third) attempt to merge together. I honestly do not know who the survivor would be in a consolidation. This is one of the reasons why I have not been talking about this sector a great deal and have stated that it was not part of the recent market recovery.

Other than WDC, which in itself might be a risk, I have steered cleared of the Disk Drive Sector.
