Court hands Microsoft a victory An appeals court ruled Tuesday that Microsoft Corp's upcoming Windows 98 software is not covered by an earlier court ruling that sought to force the company to stop requiring manufacturers to install its Internet Explorer on personal computers. The ruling comes three days before Microsoft is set to ship copies of Windows 98 to PC makers.
