<< I think the term spin doctor refers to someone who continually predicts the stock is going to go up, explains why (ussually associated with a "slam dunk" event), and then the rise in price or event never happens or is delayed sometime over a year >>

But, then, we have spin doctors on every thread. Every stockholder waits for news on his stock, right? Is that an unusual behaviour?

The first thing I do every morning is check my Yahoo portfolio list for news, and hope that there is some "good" news. Right now, I'm hoping for one of my cancer biotech holdings to issue some hype. Give me a ENMD type of day. $70 up in one hour!

We've all been disappointed with LGND's movement.

Talking about "spin", how about this week. We are expecting the earnings report and a possible Panretin NDA. What should we say, to NOT be a spin doctor? I'm hoping that the earnings report is great and that the NDA comes out and it is hyped as the first Cancer Ointment, for humans! I hope we hit $30 per share this week!

But, I am used to disappointments, so I am not holding my breath.

Mudcat. I do realize that you are substantially long. What if Henry is correct about the science and wrong about the price movement. He wouldn't be alone. In the biotech sector, many, many of the top analysts have missed the boat. A lot of biotech stocks have stunk out the barn!

Hopefully, one of these days, as the longs are rewarded for holding onto LGND, we'll thank Henry for his efforts.

Good luck, Bob
