Company is out meeting with investors today. no major new news to report, it just feels like there's a rotation away from software right now. My sense is that a few vantive watchers (with significant influence) could be more positive for the story if they continue to execute high growth without generating so much revenue from resellers like Lucent or EDS. (That's not my opinion, I'm just reporting.) In fact, per the gorilla game, i think a company becomes much more valuable (viable too) when lost of companies build products or services that leverage the company's core technology. That mirror's Luongo's statements as well. He thinks one of the reasons Oracle weathered its storms so well is that so many other companies had a vested interest in its success. Vantive has lots of partners and more coming. Basically a solid presentation, but no major material news. Short term, I can't think of a catalyst, but long term, I think the outlook is solid. TD
