Assembler at MasterCard International

'
....

High-Level Assembler

This issue is not going away. Our tech services people are insisting
there's a problem. I agree, but it's not a Year 2000 compliance
problem. One well-placed observer suggested to me that tech services
doesn't have the budget or manpower to upgrade all the old assembler
programs, so they want to get it combined into the Y2K project. I
can't judge how true this observation is, but it's possible.

Basically, technical services is arguing that any assembler program
originally built with an older assembler may fail even if it has NO
date logic. They have found a couple of older programs that don't
work with the current release of the operating system, but it's not
due to date-related problems. Some old programs refer to operating
system services/access methods that are no longer supported.

Addi... believe me I feel your pain and frustration (I've been there)... what's really gotta be bugging you is that you would have had substantially greater gains had the lawsuit never been brought... As you say, the suit has certainly smeared SPNSF... and for what??? They could've never been sued under today's "Safe Harbor" protections... 1Q EPS would have been .12 without the suit (the float would have been half) and SPNSF would have popped into the 30s on yesterday's announcement... The only winners were the attorneys..... Sentimentally, maybe you old shareholders "FEEL better that you "got a piece" of SPNSF... but, usually the best thing to do is just move on... Share price would have recovered much faster left alone... and realistically, it was the MMs that ran up the price anyway... the MMs should have been sued... as I pointed out before, if every IPO that went on a run got sued (RMBS and all the others) only to pullback there wouldn't enough court space in the Universe... that's why we have "Safe Harbor" protections now... Since SPNSF paid the settlement a year ago, I wonder who's been collecting the interest as it sat in the escrow account.... the attorneys.... Anyhow, all of us need to learn we've got to let the past go and get on with life.... for me, I would have left and forgotten SPNSF years ago had I felt wronged.... there's a million other opportunities for capital appreciation out there.... heck, I'd be in about 100 suits right now if I went after every company that suckered me with "too" optimistic projections

SPNSF may have to chew through the 9s a bit as I'm sure there are others just like Addi taking advantage of this bittersweet SPNSF success as a time to unload....

For me I feel SPNSF has just shown us the tip of the iceberg of what they are capable of doing... based on 1Q results analysts are going to start upping their estimates.... Zuckerman indicated that 1Q growth should be expected the rest of the year.... Bleichreoder has a fixed a 5 year growth rate of 60% to SPNSF....

Let's hope SPNSF can do at least what AMES did after their bankruptcy... (yes AMES actually went through bankruptcy... an never got sued)....

Addi... I hope you can find peace over this company... seems you've stewed for years.... believe me, it ain't worth it... I'd find another company to invest my tears in... I wouldn't let any dumb little company inflict this type of emotional damage on me... I wouldn't give them the pleasure....

Peace...

C ya
