Jeez, Reggie, it's a published account, I just quoted a couple numbers. Or maybe they were just trying to sell advertising again. You want to dispute it? Hit us with the relevant spreadsheet, give us the dissertation on options theory, tell us what it all means.

Cheers, Dan.

Reggie,

>> Like you know what you are talking about. If you add back options expense, don't froget to add back deferred revenues, pre-paid expenses, markiung real estate to market, including LIFO reserves, and deferred taxes and warranty reserves. Now, after all of that, where do the profits stand?

Sounds like Microsoft's accountants can make about any number appear in the earnings column for a quarter. Of course, if they are audited, they can always blame Excel for not doing a recalc on some critical numbers. Somewhere there is a real number for earnings, do you know what it is? If so, please print it for everyone.

Cheers,

Norm

Oh, and Reggie, not to pile on or anything, but would you like to tell us ignorant fools what the heck "markiung real estate to market" is? Bill got some REITs off on the side? In China maybe? Enquiring minds want to know!

Cheers, Dan.
