Well, better to buy on the ground floor rather than the top. Companies that want results now are going to ODIS now, they can ill afford to wait for Oracle or anyone else to come up with the goods. Besides, they've very little to lose in trying out ODSI, if they design their applications properly, they shouldn't lose much if they need to reconsider later, everything is multi-tier, COM, etc. nowadays. With the web, there are specific design problems with specific solutions, Oracle says it is better to be all things to all people, but what they don't realize is that Object Databases are all things to all people in the new objectified, webified, DNAified world. O.

Bob Trocchi said we need 100 companies building products based on ObjectStore. Well we have Data Research Associates, Sterling Software, and Inso. Only 97 to go! You can add Platinum Software (Paradigm Plus) and Coopers & Lybrand (my friend said that they have some sort of accounting package that they resell).
