36centseps, downward revisions because of asia, estimates next quarter 15cents. stock closes at 33.50. i expect the stock to drift to mid twenties by the summers. would not be surprised if you had a shocker. llike intc or orcl. two big tech companies in their field that got killed with numbers. i think amat to go down move then 7+ points it would have to reduce numbers to under 5 cents or a breakeven quarter . i would not be shocked if amat took a loss because this is very hard business and amat in a tough position. if i'm a strong bull i would be very disapointed if amat laid off 10% of their workforce. i would rather see amat lose money then reduce headcount or cut down or new development in technology. if you remember in 1996 when amat layed off workers it hurt them when the cycle turned because they were short of skilled labor.
