CSCO earnings conference call, John Chambers said that he did not feel the partnership approach with Lucent was going to work out.

I feel there might be a hostile takeover for Cisco (if at all), not a merger.

If you are saying what I think you are (LU and CSCO merging), I would have to seriously disagree with you. Cisco is anti-big-merger and I believe that it is more profitable for these companies to stay independant. But that is JMHO....
