Dwight, The King James is an imperfect interpretation using centuries old language. I use the New American Standard which is translated to be as close to the original Hebrew and Greek as possible. Bob

Dwight I am convincd there can be no reasonable discussion of the bible or any other religious work. We tend to group our thinking based on preconceived concepts which preclude an open mind to others thinking. If after 2000 years of discussion by the most learned scholars and translators we cannot agree on its meaning there is no need for further discusion. If the truth is there we should know it by now and all agree to its meaning. We need a proper study of the times it was written, the method of expression and the purpose of the authors. We could easily come to agreement on the canon. But the limitation imposed by the clergy of researching philosophy only from literature written by the Romans and made a state religion by force, then truth will be pretty well lost. I can tell you of error after error in scriptures but people like the preacher will find some lame excuse to read over it as parable if they don't agree or out out of context or some such. A study of religion requires much diligence and searching in all directions. There can be no freedom where state and clergy are forcing their rules on others. If you understand the fortunes amassed by some preachers you will easily understand why they fight so desparately to keep people from the truth.
