Kaiser says get ready for Cartaway II

Donner Minerals Ltd DML
Shares issued 26,161,058 May 8 close $2.74
Mon 11 May 98 In the News
John Kaiser, writing in the April 28 Bottom-Fish Report, says Donner
Minerals' recent performance may have more to do with stock promotion than
with the fundamentals. The letter writer reports that at the mid-$2 range,
the South Voisey's Bay area player has an implied project value of close to
$400 million. Speculating the stock could double this year, Mr. Kaiser
notes neighbouring companies with equal or better properties have far less
market valuations. Drilling is scheduled for mid-May, he says. The stage
has been set for a "feeding frenzy reminiscent of the Cartaway fiasco of
May 1996." Still, the potential for a blow off anytime soon has been
lessened by a squabble between Inco and the Newfoundland government over
the location of Inco's smelter, and a Goldman Sachs report that is cool to
the economics of the Voisey's Bay project. Nonetheless, Mr. Kaiser says the
South Voisey's Bay area play has the potential to become a speculative
winner this summer, especially on the Internet.
