In QP2 you can backtest a previous period say 140 bars ago to 100 bars ago, and your output can include the date of occurance of any signals you program into the scan.

Direction really doesn't matter. As per #4143,
--------------
loop(0,-100)
//if conditions
Println Symbol, date(0), Close(0)-close(-1)

gives the buy date. In R2, I print the max subsequent close and the date it happened.
