MT, I'm glad to have you join us here. Also, thanks for the site you mentioned; I've bookmarked it for future reference.

One of the reasons I started this thread was so I could better immerse myself with the practical side of the teachings outlined in such texts as Schilit's Financial Shenanigans, Staley's The Art of Short Selling, and any other references provided by the thread participants.

It would appear hazardous to one's wealth to be an eternal bull and to look only to the upside potential of various stocks. Certainly the Cendants, Medaphis', and Crazy Eddies should have taught us this lesson. I hope with your continued participation we can improve the level of awareness here on SI of the various warning signs that very often can be uncovered from a company's financial statements.
