Can any one tell me about the volume today.
I talked to my broker today about 1 P.M. were up 2 1/2 I get home and were down.
Did we dump on big volume at the close ?

HWP might get some CPQ and IBM blood, but HWP will bleed against DELL, IMHO!

HP-Maintaining satisfactory gross margins in low-cost PCS-A paradox?

Well Eddie that's what everybody wants,but what HP wants and what HP can achieve are two different things.Just throwing around cliches wouldn't do it for sure.

On the other hand, Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP (company profile) thinks it can maintain satisfactory gross margins, even while selling low-cost systems (desktops start at less than $800 and notebooks at about $1,500), because of an efficient supply chain, he said.

"Our goal is to make sure there is no fat in the supply chain, and that we don't lose any money to inefficiency," Clay said. "I don't [foresee] a deep decrease in gross margins."

Eddie, an awful article! Just look at this statement by a presumably intelligent person:

How in the world does this work when you competitors have no channels, and hence, no frictional costs of distribution?

On the other hand, considering the the article appeared in Reseller News could we expect them to opine that traditional channels are passe?
