Yeah!!! Guess your right Karl... Especially if they are getting paid to right about a particular company...I'm not saying they all do, but I do have to laugh at the ones that trade a kazillion shares at their 52 week highs, and go nowhere except straight sideways upon the release of the news letter and then head for the skids soon after...ed

2-bits worth....i was a broker in the 70's for a major house and i imagine it hasn't changed too much today...hidden agendas, favouritism for certain clients etc etc etc. if the house was behind on a bond issue it is the job of the brokers to get it placed to clear the books.
as far as the newsletters go, you have to read behind the lines so much and you are often buying cheaper stock from equity placements. still think the best way to go is do the dd on a stock that is at its low with fundamentals for the future. really they are just race track tip sheets at best. the yankee ones are the same only on a larger scale. one you do not want to read now is the "wall st. companion" what we do not need now is the dow to collapse before the svb drilling is completed, if it goes, the vse will sink like a rock especially if gold goes with it.
for all the info at my fingertips as a broker in the 70's, i have more info available to me on my home computer, re si, co. web sites, etc. than i could ever have obtained then. si is a wealth of info and probably get more useful material than you will ever get from your broker or any news writer.
all of you on the svb threads should be congratulated for this exchanging of information, i have only received honest answers to any queries i have had and appreciate everyone on si. by the way, the donner cd is very good....make sure you see it....
