The fact that the traders could attack the currencies in the first place was enabled by a multitude of decisions based on [mostly] pure greed by the govts of the countries to print money pegged to the dollar to finance "businesses" that weren't needed and did nothing productive, neither in services nor in producing a "good" that was actually needed or wanted by anyone. The Twin Towers stand as a symbol of these "Asian values".
