What sort of financing deal did SPDV arrange? It would be nice to know what they gave away in terms of stock, options, conversion features, etc. The market seemed to react negatively, driving the stock down as low as 1 7/8, before it closed at 2 1/4, down 14%.

SAN DIEGO, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- SpaceDev (OTC Bulletin Board: SPDV) announced today that it completed an agreement with J.P. Carey to raise approximately $900,000 in private financing.

SpaceDev intends to use the proceeds to fill several key positions, such as Near Earth Asteroid Prospector ("NEAP") Project Manager and NEAP Spacecraft Engineer and to begin constructing the NEAP spacecraft.

Based in Atlanta, GA, J.P. Carey arranges equity and debt financing for publicly traded U.S. companies. The company specializes in private placements that serve as an alternative to secondary offerings. The company also manages funds dedicated to investment into growing companies.

SpaceDev, the world's first commercial space exploration company, intends to launch the first privately financed mission to another planetary body. NEAP will assess and then land on its target near earth asteroid. SpaceDev is selling rides for scientific instruments to universities, governments and companies to transport their instruments and experiments through deep space to another planetary body. SpaceDev intends to sell the scientific data acquired by additional instruments as commercial products. Based in Colorado, SpaceDev has offices in San Diego and Washington D.C.
