Sadly there is no function in QP2 that converts a date into a bar number, which is what is needed to do what you request. However, what I have done instead is to build the exit coding into my backtest scan. This allows me to use the information about the entry signal to output more information that occurs from that point to the present for the stocks that were found to have entry points by the scan. This makes things more complex in the scan but I can do further analysis in a spreadsheet with the results. I agree that a date to bar conversion would be an extremely valuable scanning tool and I have asked Gary to consider putting it into QP in the future. I think that Gary is trying to get the QP2 release out in a clean useable way, so I expect it may take some time before this feature is implemented, since the feature is not a necessity to use of the scanning functions.
