Tuesday May 12, 11:39 am Eastern Time Company Press Release Packaging Plus Announces Name Change and Declares Dividend PLAINVIEW, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1998--Packaging Plus Services, Inc. (OTC BB:PKGP - news) today announced a formal change of its corporate name to Universal Express, Inc., effective June 30, 1998. PKGP stock certificates will be replaced by new certificates at the appropriate time. Additionally, PKGP announced that it will be issuing a Dividend to all shareholders coincident with the distribution of the new certificates. The Dividend will be a Warrant for additional shares of the Company's stock; specific details will be announced at a later date. ''A name change at this juncture is a natural progression for our growing company and reflects PKGP's dynamic development from its initial roots in packaging to its expansion into several subsidiaries and planned entre into international shipping'', stated Richard A. Altomare, Chairman of the Board. ''We are also most pleased to be declaring a Dividend at this time to thank our shareholders for their continued support'', Mr. Altomare concluded. Further announcements and additional stockholder instructions will follow. In the interim, actual PKGP stock certificates should be secured by all shareholders in anticipation of their replacement. The company will continue to trade as PKGP until July 1, 1998, when the symbol will be replaced by a soon-to-be-announced new trading symbol. Additionally, the company indicated that ''PACKAGING PLUS'' will remain within the UNIVERSAL EXPRESS family as a nostalgic name of the company's recently formed customized corrugated subsidiary. Packaging Plus Services Inc. owns and operates several subsidiaries in the packaging and shipping businesses.
