ORBI broke critical resistance today at $40 and will soon
see $34 as support! It's a much better short than LOR...

Long term both companies will do VERY well, but it's a
satellite short sellers market right now, especially if VSAT
comes out with bad numbers.

LOR is a better buy than ORBI anyway right now as ORBI's
next critical support is at $34 per share...

I wonder if there's an entry for LORAL with the blocked sale of Murdoch's AskyB. Would this be a good thing for Loral to consider buying? $1.1B is a lot of money, but its a business they aren't as strong in right now... It wasn't clear to me whether this is a service or just sats and slots. If the latter, LOR could buy it and be the capacity provider for an existing DTH company in those regions. (Europe, right?)

corrected Ok I've discovered that these assets are located over the US. Without becomming a consumer level DBS TV provider, could Loral purchase the assets and lease the transponder time to Echostar at a profitable rate?

Please educate me if this is a stupid thing to say...
