Well Mark, the problem as I see it with organized religion is more serious than just a few intolerant members.

By banding together in numerous and often contentious religious groups people seem to need affirmation of the wisdom of their particular religion choice. It's very similar to being a fan for a particular football team, baseball team or soccer team.

The fans(church members) root for the team. We all know the outcome of some of these sports spectacles--often violence. This to a certain extent explains how religion(which for some reason inspires even stronger fervent feelings)has been the catalyst for so much injustice and human suffering thru the ages.

Let's keep it simple. Personal religion and treat others the way we want to be treated. Raise our children to be tolerant, honest, cheerful human beings. Less dogma the better.
