Saving vs. growing...

Yes, abandoning y2k software writing is a savings, but you have to look at the other side of the ledger: They are giving it up because software sales do not justify the expense.

If you look at the lost core business billables because engineers were assigned to write the sofware (I believe the adds up to about 2.5 million over Q1 and Q2, not exact but in the ballpark), TAVA has made only a little bit of money off the y2k software. Hardly worth it.
