New Lawsuit Is Over Java, Sun Says

Listen to the real audio remarks from SUN and MicroSoft's response.

I really think Sunw has a valid point. Can Sun try to obtain the same results by providing their compatible JAVA code to all registered Windows98 users. In order for MS to comply with their JAVA license agreement,I could see the court requiring MS to provide the names and addresses to SUN of these Windows98 users so SUN could contact and provide the appropriate fix.

Futhermore, If I were the judge, I would make MS reimburse SUN for the direct expenses incurred to upgrade all these Window98 packages to make them JAVA compliant.

MS has already made the error to ship Windows98 with non-compliant JAVA (they had options to (1) delete JAVA in total but did not or (2) make the JAVA code compliant). As a result, it appears to me a court order as described above would be in line.
