Brett --

Thanks for the stock suggestions on this grey rainy day --- and a market to match.

I have friends in ABTX and don't know why I've never listened. Too focused on telecommunications, I guess.

The two I'm watching are COMS and CYMI. They're not short-term plays, just companies with solid futures that look as if they might be at their lows. Don't take my word for it as I don't do TA. I just watch and wait and start buying when I think they've turned around. I started buying ASND at 28, NN at 20, and both CIEN and TXN around 40. With this method you have to believe in a company and have a lot of patience.

Looks as though the market's trying to rally.

NN's looking a little better, too.

Later --

Pat

One of the side benefits of the Internet is in bringing people together. While at NetWorld +Interop, I visited ACC , one of NN's affiliates, and when I told the CEO I didn't understand the finer details of ATM, he insisted I have a certain technical guidebook. First he led me to Alcatel's booth where he was sure they'd have one, and when they didn't he proceeded to FORE. There they only had one left and he didn't hesitate a second, grabbed it and handed it to me.

"MPOA, Multiprotocol over ATM," it's called. Sponsored by Fore, IBM, Madge, Newbridge, and Trillium, the brochure lists a website where you can access whitepapers and technical explanations of all kinds.

Compliments of Mr. Whyte's kindness, here's the site:

techguide.com

Add it to your favorite places for those times you don't quite understand the technology in question.

Pat

Brett,

Pleasantly surprised to see your name show up on one of the boards here. Hopefully the stock trading is financing your education, no. Funny that you mentioned ABTX. I've been in it since $4/share.

Have been thinking about buying into some more networkers. Giving NN a look over, but not sure.
