Good news on the iMac front--

A very reliable source on the AOL MF board reports that at a breakfast meeting with educators, "the audience was informed that it already looks like the iMac modem will be 56k by the time it actually ships."

It had/has to happen. 33.6 just doesn't cut it.

I think the fact that the DOJ is supposed to move this week is a good reason to hold Apple right here and a possible reason why Jobs didn't mention any Intel OS stuff yesterday. Good to have the ad campaign kick off tonight--it will help mindshare. I see even Fortune is into the act, by publishing a pro-Mac letter to the editor in the latest issue. I'd love for the iMac tv ads to use Jobs' line about cheap pcs being yesterday's technology and the iMac being tomorrow's tech.

Time is on the AAPL investor's side. Should be an excellent year, with growing profits and eventual revenue growth. Mindshare is growing all the time. The company still has much unrecognized value and serious flexibility for alliances, etc.

Good luck,
Marc
