Well, I like the older guys,as they have seen a real bear market before. My portfolio is open to all. I guess everyone else here would give you a list of their holdings also.
You know, I understand more gold funds were fooled by Bre-X than real gold-bugs.
Why not just take your pick of great companies yourself? I bet we could dig up the members of the XAU index.

Michael, review this thread: exchange2000.com
RYPMX is a proxy for the XAU, a good safe place to start if you want to go long precious metal mining companies.

Hi Mike. If you're doing a search, the names are Frank Veneroso and James Blanchard. Both are discussed from time to time here or over at Kitco, etc. Veneroso runs a consulting firm back east and I think Blanchard runs a gold dealership in Louisiana. I believe it has a website, but don't know for sure.

Pete

Add a third Old Timer to your list: Ian McAvity. His credentials include singlehandedly raising the funds for American Barrick prior to them going public and pulling off the world's largest goldmine still in production, the Grassberg in Indonesia, from his
personal contacts and reputation.

He is a Canadian by Birth and Residence and is the fund mgr for Central Fund of Canada, a fund who holds only physical silver and gold.

Don't know that he has a website but do know his research and newsletter are second to none.

CEF on the AMEX.
