Yes, Petz, designing systems to withstand certain power dissipation and estimation of battery are two very different things.

What is an overvoltage power supply?

Now, K6-300 is guaranteed to operate at 300MHz at Vcc2 of 2.1V. How closely can you keep the Vcc2 at 2.1V but not below? Such a tight tolerance would cost you quite a bundle in that laptop you would try to design. It is a lot cheaper to design the Vcc2 at 2.2 nominal with 2.1V and 2.3V the lower and upper limit, respectively. Naturally, you still have to make sure your system survive any stress at the worst case Vcc2 of 2.3V.
