Your Ali #1 and #2 hypothesis is interesting but I'm not sure it flies. I think the same things could be said about lots of posters on this thread. Here's an example:

(poster didn't properly spell his name)

On the other hand:
exchange2000.com
(a nice, informative post. thank you))

When people make a short, insulting post, sometimes their English suffers. When they're saying something longer (of merit), they take the time to correct their spelling and grammar.

The obvious exception to this is Greg Nus, who doesn't know or care much about grammar or spelling either way.
