Ron...I'm pretty sure it was a buy because my money flow # went from -1 million and something to -800k and something. Maybe someone with level 11 can confirm. Watching the trading today, it looked like mostly smaller sells taking us down.

I saw 2 more 10,000 blocks go through at the end also...can't comfirm whether they were buys or not. Anyone with level 11....I'm using level A and still learning :)

John

<<The question is whether that was a short sale or a buy.>>

Ron, two questions:

1)How can one determine - short or buy?
2)What's the real difference: the block went on ask, this means it was a "buy" isn't it? Just because somebody paid higher (ask) price for it, even if it was offered by a short-seller. The only difference I see is that in case it was sold short it has to be bought back sometime later.

Please, correct me if I am wrong - I am just a student.

Incidentally, I was thinking about this very matter on my way back home tonight. After work I dropped into my friend's office (he is a broker at Prudential, bought TAVA on my advice for himself and some of his clients) and we went through the today's tape. I noticed four 25K and one 20K blocks went through on ask and one 25K block on bid. We both decided they were "buys", but then I remembered that short sales require uptick - so they might have been shorted on the ask as well.

I am very tired and disappointed today...

Thanks.

Viktor.
