AFTER THE BELL - Applied Materials <AMAT.O> rises (I don't expect it to rise much after an early morning small gap because it did state a problem with oversupply. I do like this company however.

NEW YORK, May 12 (Reuters) - Shares in Applied Materials Inc.
rose in after-hours trade Tuesday after the semiconductor
equipment maker reported quarterly earnings in line with
forecasts.
Applied Materials was up at 38-3/8 on the Instinet electronic
broker system from a 37-15/16 closing price.
"AMAT is really the only thing going on," a trader said.
The Santa Clara, Calif., company said after the markets closed
that it earned $0.37 a diluted share in the second quarter. The
earnings were in line with a First Call consensus estimate.
