Stock should do the wagging. Often the stock price on x day is below parity. This lets the greatest amount of options expire worthless. This is like the chicken and egg debate. Do option trades reflect the value of the stock, or do traders trade stock to benefit their option positions close to x day? Follow it for several months and tell me what you think. I think it may be a little of both.
