Merely rhapsodyzing (sp?) about a double-whammy short squeeze.

First whammy is the shorter's need to buy stock on the open market to cover the nonexistent ones he had already sold to somebody; these shares don't exist, but he's already taken somebody's money for them.

Second whammy is that he needs to come up with the dividend that the buyer of the nonexistent shares thinks is coming to him. And he can't just reach into his pocket to pay the buyer some money; he's gotta produce a warrant. And there are only a limited number of them.

Supply vs demand! I love it, especially when I have the legitimate shares that the naked shorter needs to acquire.

Alas, I am jolted back to earth by the timely reminder that we don't *really* know how many shares are short, if any.
