>>harvest gold I think...or a pea green<<

There is but one universal color for shag carpet, any differences
noted between houses and apartments was just a trick of the
light.

Talk of shag carpeting sent me to my slide archives for a viewing of
pictures taken in a long-ago apartment. Sure 'nough, there it was:
a lovely rust-and-gold shag area rug gracing the living room. I recall
the sales person at the carpet store insisting that I would need a shag
rake to keep the critter groomed. It had to do with the extra-long
yarn disabling the vacuum cleaner. The rake resembled a push
broom with plastic tynes in lieu of straw.

Something I noticed in pictures from that era: out attire and hairstyles
were complementary to the decor of our habitat.
