Repost from Yahoo:

First of all you are right about them pulling the permit for Devens. That is old news. That
doesn't mean they will not relocate there.TT and USF are looking at several sites in
Mass. including Devens. My source there E-mailed me the letter.
It was from E. Gail Suchman Regional Director of the DEP to State Rep Geoffery D.
Hall.

The letter explains the DEP favors the Thermo Master Process. It explains pollution
concerns. Here are bits and pieces of the letter.

"The proponent for various reasons, decided to withdraw the permit application for the
project at Devens and is exploring the possibility of locating at three different sites
including Devens."

the Massachusetts and National Ambient Air Quality Standards will not be exceeded.

The standard for Sulphur Dioxide is 365 micrograms. The closest monitored location is
Worcester where current levels are 60.TT is projected to add 0.06 this is an
insignificant amount.

Particulate: the 24 hr standard is 150.Worcester is 56 per cubic meter.Tt will increase
this by 8 micrograms.Well below again.

Nitrogen Oxides: The standard is 100 micrograms per cubic meter.TT will add about
13 micrograms per cubic meter once again well below.

Carbon Monoxide: has a one hour standard of 40 milligrams per cubic meter.TT will
put out 0.03 milligrams per cubic meter.

Lead: There are very low predicted lead emissions from the proposed plant.the
standard is 1.5 micrograms per cubic meter TT will put out 0.002 micrograms per cubic
meter.

Ozone: The facility will not emit any Ozone

Ancillary Issues :

"It appears there is concern felt by some in the community that large quantities of toxic
metals will be emitted by the proposed facility, posing a health risk to the
neighborhood. This concern may stem from a misconception that all metals in the the
sewage sludge processed would be emitted. In fact, the Department expects that very
low levels of metals would be emitted from this facility, and that there would be no
health risk to the neighborhood."

Another good report for TT.The report is actually 8 pages long.
