No Shawn, CPQ doesn't have a clue that they're unpopular in the stores. In fact, if you listen to some of the stupidity on this thread, you would be lead to believe that so-called second rate cpq is run by neanderthals. What dribble!! It's almost embarassing just to read this crap on this thread about amd vs. intel chips and where cpq computers are displayed in a particular store.

Get real.

Shawn,
Just look at CompUSAs stock price and you'll see the problem. Their stores are set up like junk, IMHO.

so unpopular that presario is selling 100% more year over year and can't supply the dealers because they can't make them fast enough. I think the retailers are showcasing other brands because that's what they can get - 'sell them what you have, not what they want'.

Shawn, in the local CompUSA store here, the Presario notebooks are the ones that have demos running, complete with very nice sound. Other brands are either not even turned on or they don't have demos running. And no sound coming out of them.

Even though I'm a discerning notebook consumer who looks carefully at the spec sheet, it is obvious which notebook attracts me and makes me want it --> Presario, hands down.

I have to agree with rudedog. I was at CompUSA last week. I asked him what was the best selling pentium II machine. He said the CTX and the HP's. I asked him about the Compaq's. He said he was out of them.
