I second that Winer. JK is only one voice. At the Toronto investment seminar, five out of six newsletter writers picked SVB as the Hottest area play of 1998.

As Vaughn pointed out in a recent post some of these guys were not promoting the likes of Donner simply because they missed the boat. There's no crime in that. I talked to Fagan and he told me flatly that SVB is one exciting play but he was too just a little too late to endorse it.

As for the present price drop: even though SVB is identified as the hottest area play of the year, that doesn't guarantee the stock is going to do a vertical take-off to $100. Like any stock - especially with a lot of early bargain hunters in at a buck or so (not, you should note, on the advice of Kaiser!). This won't be that last profit-taking shakeout we'll see this summer. It might not even be over yet. But with the most exciting geology in Canada, the best exploration brains in the business, and the biggest drilling budget in the country this year, I think you can safely say shareholders of SVB stocks are in for one awesome summer.

Good luck all, Al
