Dr. Rothstein: You are simply wrong. The announcement said Sony will be launching an external version of the drive in Q3 this year. Targeting at the retail market, the company will be packaging the drive at the consumer-oriented level. But then the announcement also referred to another new Sony product, when the announcement read By end-1998, Sony will unveil the DVD+RW drive based on Sony's rewritable DVD technology. DVD+RW uses a Phase-Change Rewritable format that provides a 3.0GB capacity, rewritability and is backward compatible with other CD formats. Like many members of this thread, you have become far too eager to attack Rocky Reid. Actually, this is no longer the IOM thread, it's become the "Attack Rocky Reid" thread, and it is the Iomaniacs who are to blame not Rocky.
