Hi, Mark!

It is true that the examples I gave were extreme and clearly not based upon love.

Let me see if I can fit the emotion of love into an extreme example... hmmm... consider someone who loves God so much that they become fanatically devoted to God - faith without humility; yet, emotionally, it is love [more on this "little" point later]. Suppose someone loves Jesus and believes that he is the Son of God to the extreme of disparaging all who do not acknowledge that Jesus is as such. To the extreme of calling all those people the minions of Satan. Can hatred be a product or corollary of love-based belief? Can intolerance come from love?

If love is a pure emotion, then can it be polluted? How? Why? Are love and fear the basis of all other emotions? Are they independent? A little bit of love and a little bit of fear and you have... Obsession... by Calvin Klein. ;-)

A friend,

Greg

Mark man is most philosophically described as a "God in the body of an animal." The God is leading in evolution, but it is bringing the animal behind it toward the same high goal. Within the animal is the God that, like the dog, can dower the mortal animal-man with the divine instinct to guide himself inerringly thru the darkness of incarnational night.

The Christ-soul is preceded by the 3 kings who anticipate his coming and hail and adore him on his arrival. The 3 kings of consciousness are Mind-Soul-Spirit, the ineffable trinity of divine life. In man's ordinary consciousness they manifest as Goodness, Truth, and Beauty. When brought to glowing intensity in the field of conscious being in man, the three fuse into one great power of divine Love. This is the three starred, three rayed King whose birth is hailed at midnite of Dec.24.

When yuletide carolers raise paens of joyous songs to greet the birth of humanity's King at midnight of the winter solstice, it is all in token of the three kings of consciousness that are destined to rule in the life of man on earth, ---Goddness, Truth and Beauty .
Fused in the white heat of Love, they become that Prince of Peace who can touch the animal in man with his wand of magic and transform him into a fairy spirit.
