Eli Lilly and Co. Signs Agreement With SIMSCI

BREA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 1998--Simulation Sciences Inc. (SIMSCI) (Nasdaq:SMCI - news) Wednesday announced the signing of an agreement with Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co [NYSE:LLY - news].

The agreement covers maintenance fees for existing applications within SIMSCI's AIM suite of products and represents an additional commitment beyond Lilly's previous contract.

In support of this decision, Paul Brandenburg, associate information consultant at Lilly, stated: ''We've been using the AIM technology since 1989 as a process-information-management tool. We are pleased with SIMSCI's commitment to the AIM product line and feel confident in extending our contract an additional three years.''

The AIM software, consisting of the industry-proven AIM- Supervisor System and the new AIM\AT suite of products, has been praised for its open architecture, adherence to industry standards, and ease of integration with enterprise systems such as R/3 from SAP.

The AIM\AT suite leverages the Windows NT operating environment and employs a completely new architecture based on object-oriented technology and the client/server model.

Charles R. Harris, president and chief executive officer of SIMSCI, said, ''This agreement reinforces our commitment to delivering best-in-class information-management solutions to
our customers. We are pleased with Eli Lilly's long-term commitment to the AIM suite of products.''
