Well I'm not alone then! I agree with your quite bullish part - in fact there are very few industries with the pricing power of the semi-equips and the balance sheets as strong - I once said to TSO (aka the MIA one) that I have never seen a semi-equip I did not love!

No clue about what the Street is thinking. Perhaps:
(1) backlog did not drop as much as feared
(2) saying unequivocally 850 million as rev. floor is impressive
(3) of course this is AMAT - on my top 3 list of best managed companies (and I guess I have looked well into 200-300 companies by now)
(4) gaining market share
(5) balance sheet still strong
(6) etc etc etc

Shane (was wrong about AMAT going down in share price although I was right about the revenues and demand - both suck. However the stock price is beating to a different drummer!)
