Hi The Coz

I don't follow you:

a) if CGI buys an US Company, CGI will pay it with is own stock and not with the stock that BCE owns in CGI so, why
the % of ownership of BCE would change in CGI ?
b) I don't see any reason why BCE would increase is % of ownership in CGI if they don't want to take the control in a near future.

Au revoir

J-R

Coz, what's your take on Bell Sygma's holdings of Cognicase?

As you know, CGI will now own Bell Sygma, who in turn has a stake in Cognicase. But CGI partners with Informission (a Cognicase competitor) for Y2K re-engineering services. Also, BCE is selling C&W in the UK to consolidate funds for Canadian expansion.

Here's some info that had been posted on the Cognicase thread in February.

The recent acquisition announcement by CGI for Bell Sygma does not include all the assets of the
Bell Sygma unit. Bell Sygma will remain as a shell and retain the ownership stake in Cognicase.
This does not mean that CGI will be making additional use of the COGNICASE tool. CGI stopped
using COGNICASE when COGIF partnered with DMR, a competitor of CGI.
