Yes, sometimes analysts do know more about the company and the company ceo; at minimum they are more objective.

the market is saying that amat is low-balling.

CNBC asked Morgan about acquisitions. I don't recall a specific reply. Did Morgan duck the question?? CNBC's gist was that in previous downturns, AMAT had gone out and acquired a lot of companies on the cheap, but that in this downturn, no acquisitions have been made. Anyone get notes on this?
