Curlton,

I have to say that, although you do seem to be a Cymer cheerleader,
to my knowledge you have spent lots of time stating very specifically
WHY.

Also, your posts are helpful to investors less knowledgeable than
yourself, and you seem to go out of your way to be helpful.

I salute that and urge everyone else on this thread to do the same.
Lots of cooperation and tolerance make this an interesting and worthwhile thread.

A lot of teenage macho "I am smarter than you" bullshit make
it a waste of time.

Best wishes,

Jim

The fallacy that people fail to grasp is that the big upside return has been terminated by the covered call - which is the whole basis for taking downside equity risk in the first place. Not a good strategy.

This statement is incorrect. The technique of rolling the calls out returns the upside to the stock holder. See #reply-4437768

The techniques weak point is a situation where the run up is so steep that the new options would need to be deep in the money and/or significantly into the distant future.

Enjoy the ride,

Ira

Curlton,

Selling puts are a great way to buy into a position at a discount. Cymer should use this same thought process with their share buyback money. Sell Puts (warrants) vs. Buying Stock.
