You say MSFT should try to fragment Java; just so, Sun should try to stop them, and that's what I see happening. I think Sun IS choosing its battles, and I doubt the lawsuits were filed "at the drop of a hat."

I don't think you or I have the information needed to determine whether Sun's strategy is bad (or have they laid it out for you?); time will tell. Either you trust them with your money or you don't.
