Yes...many thanks for making that more clear. Of course the head must be positioned over the magnetic domain in some semblance of proximity.
Simply though it does mean that Big Foot doesn't necessarily have to move up the velocity curve in order to see new density releases. However, unless new mechanical solutions can be found that allows a faster rotational speed Bigfoot would be constrained at reaching very high transfer rates. Am I right? By the way...I have been engaging a bit in conjecture here. I do not know for certain that 5 1/4 disks are at the edge of their performance envelope at 4500 RPMs. It may be there is more rotation speed budget there before some of the physics I mentioned kick in. Can you help here as well? Thanks again.
