I agree that discounting for strategic reasons can be a good thing. However, discounting to maintain a license sales growth percentage is a bad thing long term. Unless... you discover a price point that satisfies an untapped market. Otherwise you are just drawing in revenue from a pool of existing market opportunity that may have exercised their purchase power at a higher price point in the future. It really comes down to how saturated do you believe the market is and do you believe in a future where databases are a commodity item. syborg
