Does anyone know who Profile is? Would this system require a switch(es)?

BEAVERTON, Ore., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The CNN News Group will
install a Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK) multi-channel, Emmy(R) award-winning Profile(R) system at its Atlanta-based CNN Center Operations. The multimillion dollar project was designed by the Tektronix System Management Group and CNN to facilitate commercial spot delivery for its seven networks.

The project will incorporate numerous Tektronix PDR200 MPEG 4:2:2 Profile video file servers, Profile Fibre Channel networking, SGI Origin(TM) 2000 servers with shared RAID 3 storage, and an Ampex 812 data tape library system.

Janski,

The message is best left standing on its own merits. While I do not have answers to all of your questions, I can tell you that Ancor successfully demonstrated interoperability with other vendors products. There were people asking questions but I wasn't around the booth long enough to observe many. IMO, Ancor's presentation was at least equal to the other FC vendors. BTW, many attendees never made it to the tent where Brocade was exhibiting. (Ancor was in the main hall!) I could not personally validate any prospective buyers of Ancor's switches. As you're aware when free cappucino is being served, all appear to be prospective buyers.

Ken & company seem to be in good spirits. I didn't ask how they felt two years ago, however, it was probably equally enthusiastic.

Independent feedback on Ancor's new gig [product line] albeit limited was positive.

IMO, Ancor ongoingly has positive news to release but, realize they [as a publicly held company] must limit press releases to news of significance.
