PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1998-- Coffee People, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOKA - news), a specialty coffee retailer and operator of coffee houses, announced today that it has filed a definitive proxy statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the pending merger with the U.S. operations of The Second Cup Ltd. (TSE:SKL - news).

Shareholders of Coffee People will vote on the merger at the company's annual meeting on May 19, 1998.

WOBURN, Mass.--(BW HealthWire)--May 13, 1998-- PolyMedica Corporation (AMEX:PM - news) today reported net
income of $7.6 million in the fiscal year ended March 31, 1998, or $0.79 per common share. This performance, which
includes a $2.7 million after-tax gain on the sale of the wound care business, compares with net income of $2.3 million, or
$0.27 per common share, earned in fiscal 1997.

The Company reported record net revenues of $73.8 million in fiscal 1998, as compared to $30.5 million generated in the
prior fiscal year.

Pretax income climbed to $11.5 million in fiscal 1998, as compared to $2.0 million in fiscal 1997.
