Trader, naked short floorless don't care if they destroy the company. If the company goes belly up, they don't even have to pay taxes. The company can take any action they choose and let a court straighten things out. The company didn't enter into any agreement where the outcome is the destruction of the company, even through unintended consequences. The threat of court is the fastest method to end this, it happens many times, unfortunately much too long after the nonsense occurs.
