Paul I use stockwiz98 for the database, there is no problem for now ( with the database) I didn"t start all operations because I have not received my CD yet but I know Canadian data start in 96 in stockwiz, I have some earlier data in metastock (the Reuters CD) I want to mix ( I like to have a few years of data), so I think I will do that: Export data from metastock with the downloader, I don't know perl, but with access I will remove the extention =to,=mo....., change the date format, in fact put the data compatible with stockwiz, merge it with my actual stockwiz database and have a big canadian database. After that I will make some screening with stockwiz and export the interesting candidates in metastock format, upload them with the downloader, and study the stocks with metastock The problem is I have the ticker but don't have the name, for some ticker it's easy to know the name when I see the ticker, but if I can modify the ticker in metastock database I will have all the correspondance, the other way for me is to go to downloader , file, new security, and create my symbol one by one ???????, a long job, the other way is to forget the name and have a manual list on my desk. Any suggestion ??????? About MS_scan, I read that on a mail, I made a cut and paste of the mail. > i use MS quite a bit and want to know if you or anyone in the group uses >MS_scan...it is being sold on the internet for 9.00 and will scan your >datasets for changes in symbols..i never heard of it and would like to get >an opinion and make sure it is worth the 9 dollars and 2 days to get it set >up....is anyone in the group using this...also does anyone in the group use >pc anywhere script to automate repetitve daily steps. ....also.. ....thank Bye and thank's for your help Michel G
